You can certainly show us AI-generated images for inspiration. However! We are very, very critical of using such designs as finished tattoo templates. Why? Quite simply: An AI generates images – but it has no practical experience with tattooing on human skin.A tattoo is not a picture on a canvas. The skin is a living organ that changes and ages. Lines can lose their sharpness over time, pigments spread within the tissue, and the finest details can become indistinct.Just because something looks spectacular on a screen doesn't mean it will work as a tattoo.Additional important factors include anatomy, body shape, proportions, natural lines, contrasts, and the technical feasibility of a motif.A good tattoo must not only impress when new, but also remain recognizable and aesthetically pleasing even after many years. That's why we don't simply copy AI-generated designs onto the skin. We develop our designs with artistic understanding, technical expertise, and real experience!AI can generate images. We, as tattoo artists, bear the responsibility for a good tattoo.Your trust is very important to us!Therefore, with us you are not just a customer, but an important part of the creative process. When we develop your individual tattoo design, we actively involve you. You should not only see the finished result, but also understand why we make certain artistic and technical decisions. And the best part: Even before we start tattooing, we'll show you your design digitally on the desired body part. This way, you can get a realistic idea of the size, placement, and overall effect of your future tattoo beforehand. No pig in a poke, no nasty surprises. Just transparency, trust, and cooperation.Because in the end, it's not just about a pretty picture. A tattoo usually stays on your skin for life. The crucial question isn't how long it lasts, but how long the design remains clearly recognizable and legible. That's precisely why, with every design, we think not only about today, but also about the years to come!

Every tattoo is unique – just like its price. 🙂The cost depends on various factors, particularly the size, level of detail, desired style, body part, and time required. The choice of artist also plays a role in the pricing. Therefore, we recommend a free and non-binding consultation at our studio. Together we will discuss your idea and give you a realistic price estimate. You can easily book your consultation appointment via our online calendar.
Yes, a deposit is required for a confirmed tattoo appointment. 🙂Our personal consultation is of course always free and without obligation. If we have discussed your tattoo project during the consultation and you would like to schedule a firm tattoo appointment, a deposit of up to CHF 300.– will be due.Our little tip: Bring some cash with you to your consultation – a maximum of CHF 300.–. This way we can reserve your desired tattoo appointment on the spot. The deposit is not an additional cost, but will be fully deducted from the total price at the end of your tattoo project. It serves as a binding appointment reservation and enables us to reliably plan and prepare your individual tattoo.Important: The deposit is only due once you decide to book a tattoo appointment. The consultation itself remains free and without obligation.Thank you so much for your understanding and trust! 🙂
Yes and no! 😁Whether an old, poorly done, or simply unwanted tattoo can be covered up or reworked depends on various factors.Crucial factors include the size, the existing colors, the pigment density, the condition of the skin, and of course the desired new design. To assess what's actually possible, you'll need to visit us in person at the studio. Before we make any promises, we want to take a closer look at your little (or perhaps not so little) nightmare. 😉Sometimes an existing tattoo can be directly reworked or covered up. In other cases, prior lightening through laser treatment can be beneficial to create more design possibilities. Our goal is not simply to hide something old, but to create a new, harmonious tattoo that remains easily recognizable in the long term. That's why we take the time to look at your tattoo carefully and advise you honestly about the possibilities and limitations. So, ready to give your nightmare a second chance? 😁Book a free, no-obligation consultation with us at the studio. Together we'll find out what's possible.
If you are 18 or older, you can come to us alone to get your tattoo. It is not possible or permitted for those under 18.
A good tattoo deserves proper care! 🙂Proper aftercare is crucial for optimal healing and to ensure that your tattoo retains its quality, contrasts, and details for as long as possible. At Inkwerk Bern, we don't leave you on your own after your tattoo. You'll receive detailed aftercare instructions with all the important information on cleaning, caring for, and healing your new tattoo.Because our work doesn't end with the last needle prick – proper aftercare is also part of a high-quality tattoo. Please follow our care instructions. If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, please feel free to contact us at any time.
Depending on the body part and design, a tattoo can be painful. Small tattoos are less painful than, for example, filling in larger areas completely in black. Everyone has a different pain tolerance, so the pain level is very individual. It's important to eat something fortifying and get a good night's sleep before getting a tattoo. This way, you'll have enough energy for the session!
A good tattoo doesn't start in the studio – it starts with the right preparation! 🙂Well-cared-for, healthy skin is the best foundation for our work. Therefore, we recommend that you start taking care of your skin several weeks before your tattoo appointment.1. Drink enough fluids 💧Make sure you stay well hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Good overall hydration is important for your body and skin. You don't need to drink excessive amounts of water.2. Skin care – starting 2–3 weeks beforehandEspecially for dry skin, we recommend regularly moisturizing the desired area with a moisturizing body lotion or skin cream.Products containing ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, or ceramides can help retain moisture in the skin and support the skin barrier. And yes, dear men – skincare isn't just for women! 😉3. Gentle skin exfoliationIf your skin tolerates exfoliation well, you can start with a gentle exfoliation about four weeks before your appointment, for example with a soft exfoliating glove – at most once a week. The aim is to gently remove dead skin cells, not to vigorously rub the skin.Important: If you have sensitive, very dry, or irritated skin, you should avoid mechanical exfoliation. The last exfoliation should take place several days before your tattoo appointment to allow your skin to calm down.4. Arrive rested and well-preparedGet enough sleep before your appointment, eat a proper meal beforehand and avoid alcohol/drugs.On the day of the appointment, the area of skin to be tattooed should be clean and free of freshly applied creams or body oils.If you regularly take medication, especially blood thinners, or suffer from a skin condition, please inform us in advance. Never change or discontinue prescribed medication without consulting your doctor. Why do we recommend all of this?Because we know from experience that the condition of the skin plays an important role in tattooing. Our goal is to work under the best possible conditions – for a clean execution of your design and a good subsequent healing. You take care of your skin – we'll take care of your tattoo. 😉
You should refrain from sports for 1-2 weeks after getting a tattoo. Excessive sweating and strenuous activity can negatively affect the final result of the tattoo.
The tattoo should not be exposed to water for extended periods for two weeks after getting it done, as this can soften the scab that has formed. This can negatively affect the final result of the tattoo.Swimming in chlorinated water can also lead to severe inflammation. Therefore, please shower only for two weeks after your tattoo session.
No, please come to your tattoo appointment sober. Taking alcohol, drugs, or medication makes the tattooing process much more difficult. The blood-thinning effect can make it harder for the body to absorb the ink pigments, and it can also cause circulatory problems.
This is more related to sunnier weather, especially in summer. Personally, I use a special film from the aftercare company Dermalize , which is completely black and has virtually zero UV permeability. This way, the tattooed areas are practically protected. After the protective film has been removed from your tattoo, if you still want to expose yourself to the sun, it's advisable to protect your tattoo with a sunscreen with an SPF of 50+! I recommend using a sunscreen with an SPF of 50+ or higher anyway, or H2ocean 's Surfers Choice, as this protects the color pigments in your skin and helps your tattoo last longer!
Yes, scars and stretch marks can be concealed once they have completely healed. Please note that scar tissue has a different skin texture. Therefore, the scar may be slightly visible upon close inspection of the tattoo due to its structure. For more detailed information, please feel free to schedule a consultation with me.
